Precautionary measures: Security beefed up for Youm-e-Ali
Specialised Unit of Police along with an extra contingent will be deployed at sensitive locations.

The security arrangements for the mourning processions and majalis, being organised in different parts of the city on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali on Ramazan 21 (July 31), have been finalised. Officials of the Rapid Response Force, police commandos, the Specialised Unit of Police along with an extra contingent of police officials will be deployed at sensitive locations on the day. This was stated in a report regarding security arrangements for the last 10 days of Ramazan, especially on Youm-e-Ali. The report was submitted to Inspector General of Sindh Police, Shahid Nadeem Baloch, on Sunday. The report stated that police commandos will be deployed at Nishter Park, Tibet Centre, Kharadar, Empress Market, Boulton Market and Mehfil-e-Shah-e-Khurassan. The IG Sindh reviewed the security plan and directed the CID and Special Branch officials to convey the information about suspected activities or elements to the field staff as well as coordinate the security arrangements with them. He also directed to ensure deployment of Bomb Disposal Squad, fire brigade and ambulances on important points along the route of mourning processions and at the venues of majalis.
