NA-13 Swabi-II: AJIP, JUI-N, PPP to throw support behind PML-N candidate

In a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Central Vice President (VP)Amir Muqam in Swabi on Sunday, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Nazryati (JUI-N) and Awami Jamhoori Ittehad Pakistan (AJIP) decided to support the PML-N candidate for NA-13 in the August 22 by-polls.
The National Assembly seat was vacated by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser in order to remain in the provincial assembly.
For the August 22 by-elections, the PML-N awarded the ticket to Haji Sajjad Khan from NA-13 (Swabi –II) and sent Amir Muqam to campaign for him in Swabi. Muqam did the rounds and met other parties’ candidates to forge support.
He also held a meeting with Jamiat Ishaat-e-Tauheed Wa Sunnah (JITS) chief Maulana Tayyab who also announced support for the PML-N candidate in the by-polls as did the JUI-N candidate Maulana Khalil Ahmad Mukhlis.
The JITS will support the PML-N candidate for the sake of the nation, said the party chief. Tayyab explained he supported the present central government as they are trying to restore the stature of religious scholars, clerics and mosques.
“The PML-N and religious clerics have one direction – to restore peace and establish Allah’s rule in the country.”
The PML-N central VP also met PPP candidate Asad Zaman Sher at his residence in Jalbai and the AJIP candidate Haji Noorul Hassan in Gadoon and convinced them both to support Sajjad Khan.
In his meeting with Muqam, JUI-N candidate Khalil stressed all legislation should be done according to the Shariah.
