Power generation: K-P govt announces new projects

Work has already started on a plan to generate 900 MW of electricity to overcome the energy crisis, says CM.

ISLAMABAD:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that work has already started on a plan to generate 900 megawatts (MW) of electricity to overcome the energy crisis in the province. Talking to the media, he said we intend to generate 2,000MW of electricity through competitive bids to be published in the newspapers advertisements very soon. Investors including overseas Pakistanis can invest in the scheme. He said restoration of peace in tribal areas was the responsibility of the federal government, adding that a broad-based national policy should be framed in consultations with all political parties in the country.
