An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday granted a sub inspector bail by August 5. He was one of the 17 people accused of stealing electricity. LESCO Sub Divisional Officer Ataullah Niazi had filed a complaint under Section 39/A of the Electricity Act, against 17 people including Niazi. He had submitted that the Kot Lakhpat jail superintendent, meter inspector and other LESCO staff had found 17 people stealing electricity, using a direct unauthorised connection from the distribution line. Sub Inspector Akbar Bhatti was granted bail against Rs50,000 bail bonds.
