Faulty Device: Mobile shop sued for Rs30,000
The proprietor had assured him that he would take all responsibility if the mobile was faulty.

A consumer court on Wednesday issued a notice to the proprietor of a mobile shop for August 20, in a suit seeking Rs30,000 damages for allegedly selling a defective mobile phone to the petitioner. Petitioner Muhammad Adnan submitted that he had purchased a DHC AMAZE, 4G EMI mobile for Rs10,000 from Baig Mobile on June 27. The proprietor had assured him that he would take all responsibility if the mobile was faulty. Adnan said that his phone stopped working a few days later. He said that he went to the proprietor, but he refused to replace or fix it. He prayed the court to direct the proprietor to pay him Rs30,000 damages. When The Express Tribune tried to contact the respondent for a comment, he did not answer his phone.
