A screengrab from the video showing Sara Khan.

Societies that empower women are stronger, richer, stable and less prone to corruption, said Sara Khan – a women rights advocate.

A Pakistani British, Khan is the director of Inspire - a human rights organisation and has actively campaigned for women’s rights within Muslim communities for over 18 years.

Emphasising on the need to invest more in women, Khan said female participation is always fruitful for a society. She further praised Malala Yousufzai and her cause for promoting girls education and said she inspires people across the globe.

On what should women do to get their rights, Khan said they should learn that nobody will hand them the power and “they will have to just take it.”
