LAHORE: A woman reported to have been burnt by her in-laws in Hadiara, Burki, appears to have set herself on fire, the district and sessions judge has reported to the Lahore High Court.

The LHC complaint cell had instructed the judge on Tuesday to send copies of the FIR of the case and the challan for the perusal of the chief justice within a week. The district and sessions judge reported to the LHC the same day that as per the Investigation SP, the 32-year-old woman had apparently committed suicide.

The doctor who treated her had confirmed this.

He said that her husband had disappeared and the police had sought his mobile phone data so they could find him.

Three others nominated in the case had been granted pre-arrest interim bail, he said.
