Murder: Man sentenced to death, 2 acquitted
A sister of the deceased registered a complaint at the Sattukatla police station.
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Monday acquitted two men accused of murder and awarded death sentence to one for killing a man who had refused to marry their sister. Ashfaq was sentenced to death and his brothers Riaz and Mushtaq were acquitted of the charge of killing Sharafat Ali.
The judge fined Ashfaq Rs200,000 and ordered six months’ imprisonment in the case of non-payment.Police said Ashfaq shot Ali on January 31, 2008, when he refused to marry Ashfaq’s sister Zubaida who had previously been married to Ali’s brother Sher Ali, who was murdered.
