Plans to arrange training for other Pakistani women, wishing to climb mountains.
ISLAMABAD:
The jubilant and committed Samina Khayal Baig, the first Pakistani woman to scale the world’s highest mountain, has now set her eyes at the mountaineering challenge of conquering Seven Summits.
“I’m extremely anxious to accomplish this task on behalf of my country and all the women who live here. My experience to ascend Mount Everest has taught me that if you have the will and focus, you can achieve what you want,” she told APP. “I just felt proud to have accomplished that feat for my country,” she remarked.
She said she along with her elder brother Mirza Iqbal was planning to arrange training for other Pakistani women, wishing to climb mountains.
“My most cherished desire is to help our women come out of their routine chores and infuse in them the indefatigable spirit of adventure,” said Samina Baig.
