Dairy Production: Rs1.4 billion to be spent in Multan
Packages and incentive were being introduced with an objective to elevate the sector.
MULTAN:
Punjab government will spend Rs1.4 billion to increase meat and milk production in the province, district livestock officials said on Wednesday. They said nearly 30 to 35 million of the population living in the rural areas of the province was directly or indirectly dependent on livestock sector. Different packages and incentive were being introduced for the farming community with an objective to elevate the sector, they said. They said there were nearly 400,000 big cattle (cows and buffaloes) and one million small cattle (goat and sheep) in the Multan district.
