Too Young: Ramday’s appointment challenged in LHC

The appointment of Acting Advocate General Mustafa Ramday was challenged in the Lahore High Court on Tuesday.
Advocate Noshab Khan filed the petition Khan told the court that Ramday had been appointed additional advocate general and had been given the office of acting advocate general. Khan said the chief secretary had adopted an indirect procedure to fill the vacant post. He alleged that Ramaday was not of the legal age to be eligible for appointment as advocate general.
Ramday was appointed as acting AGP on July 13. The petitioner said that appointing an ineligible person indirectly was a violation of the law.
He said Ramday was 38 years old and therefore, too young for the post of advocate general.
He asked the court to set aside the notification of his appointment.
