Cricket: Windies trounce Pakistan by 37 runs
We made bad shot selections, says Misbah.
GUYANA:
West Indies won by 37 runs, after restricting Pakistan to 195 in 47.5 overs.
Sunil Narine was announced Man of the match for his splendid spell of four for 26 in ten overs.
Nasir Jamshed and Umar Akmal tried to steer Pakistan towards the target but fell short. They scored 54 and 50 respectively.
Earlier, the Bravo duo helped Windies reach formidable score of 232 for 8 after 50 overs.
Darren Bravo scored 54 of 81 runs while Dwayene Bravo remained not out on 43 off 52 balls.
Shahid Afridi was the pick of the bowlers as he took two for 29, while Saeed Ajmal took two for 45.
Rain interrupted play in the second One-Day International between the West Indies and Pakistan at the Guyana National Stadium on Tuesday, with the West Indies steady at 95 for two off 26 overs batting first.
Pakistan captain Misbahul Haq won the toss and put the visitors in to bat, hoping for a repeat of Sunday's convincing 126-run victory in the first ODI.
Pakistan predictably named an unchanged XI, with Misbah saying at the toss that he expected his bowlers to exploit the conditions following considerable rainfall on the day between the two fixtures.
West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo revealed that he would have also preferred to bat first and despite the batting capitulation two days earlier when his team were routed for just 98, chose to retain the same team, which includes former captain Darren Sammy who is playing his 100th ODI.
Teams:
West Indies: DJ Bravo (captain), C Gayle, J Charles, DM Bravo, L Simmons, M Samuels, K Pollard, D Sammy, K Roach, S Narine J Holder.
Pakistan: Misbahul-Haq (captain), Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez, Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Asad Ali, Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Irfan.
