Militants Couriered: TTP sending more fighters to Syria
120 fighters have reached Syria so far and working under Al-Nusra Jehadi group.
ISLAMABAD:
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) announced on Monday that it is sending more volunteers to Syria to fight against Bashar al Assad’s regime following a request by an al-Qaeda affiliated group. Mohammad Amin, who has been tasked by the militia to supervise the Syrian mission, said that 120 fighters have reached Syria so far and working under Al-Nusra Jehadi group. “Spokesman for the Al-Nusra Jehadi group, associated with al Qaeda, had approached us and sought support and we positively responded,” Amin told The Express Tribune via phone call from an undisclosed location. Asked whether the Taliban are capable of sending out fighters to other countries, he said the TTP has no shortage of volunteers.
