KARACHI:
Olympians, unhappy with the current Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) set-up, will have to hold their grievance for a few more days as their meeting with Federal Minister Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Committee Riaz Hussain Pirzada was postponed due to a flight delay.

Pirzada took notice of the Pakistan hockey team’s poor performance and criticism from Olympians and convened a meeting to discuss solutions for the squad’s downfall.

However, the meeting, which was scheduled for Sunday, was postponed for few days after Pirzada’s flight from Islamabad was delayed due to technical reasons. According to Olympian Shahnaz Sheikh, the meeting will now be held later this week.

The Olympians have accelerated their campaign for the removal of Qasim Zia (PHF president) and Asif Bajwa (PHF secretary) after the Greenshirts finished seventh at the Hockey World League. The former players are demanding the ‘right people’ be hired as the current set-up has failed to deliver in the past five years.
