LESCO CEO removed from post

ISLAMABAD:
The federal government removed Chief Executive Officer of LESCO Muhammad Saleem from his post on Friday, Express News reported.

Muhammad Saleem was found guilty of providing electricity to the industrial grid out of schedule.

The federal government ordered the newly formed Anti-electricity theft unit of FIA to take strong action against the Lesco official.


An Anti-electricity theft unit was formed in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the orders of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday.

The unit kicked started its operation immediately after its creation.

The purpose of the unit is to investigate how electricity is being stolen and to take action against the corrupt officials of Wapda and Desco, who are involved in the theft.

The prime minister appointed Hussain Asghar as the head of the unit.
