President's slain chief security officer laid to rest in Karachi

Sheikh lost his life in a suicide attack near Guru Mandir on Wednesday.

KARACHI:
The body of President Asif Ali Zardari’s Chief Security Officer Bilal Sheikh has been buried in a local graveyard in Liaqatabad, Karachi.

Sheikh lost his life in a suicide attack near Guru Mandir on Wednesday.

The funeral prayers for the deceased were held at Firdous Colony where Babar Ghauri, Saleem Zia, Basheer Jan, amongst other representatives from various political parties.


Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) representative Khurshid Shah, speaking to the media, said that terrorism had increased ever since the new government came to power.

MQM Senator Babar Ghauri said that the killing of Sheikh was an act of ‘open’ terrorism.

Information minister Sharjeel Memon said that Sheikh had been a PPP activist since his youth.

The dead body was buried in Liaqatabad C-1 area.
