Swimming pool inaugurated: ‘Sports sine qua non for healthy society’

The swimming pool has been upgraded to the international standard, says Chairman POF board.

Sports activities are a sine qua non for a healthy society and the Pakistan Ordinance Factories (POF) administration has proved it by providing best sports facilities to its employees. 


Chairman POF Board Lt-Gen Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood said this while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a newly renovated swimming pool situated on Haider Road, Wah Cantt on Wednesday.

The POF chairman said that the swimming pool has been upgraded to the international standard and it should be “our collective obligation to take care of the asset”. President POF Sports Control Board Muhammad Rizwan said that the swimming pool has been renovated after 45 years, the residents had sought after for a long.

Swimming competitions were also held. In 50-metre free style junior category, Muhammad Ihtesham clinched the first position while Aqib Khan got the second position.

In 50-metre free style open category, Mazhar Mahmood clinched the first position while Usman Habib Kiani got the second position.
