Curbing crime: One killed in police shoot-out
In ensuing exchange of fire, one of the suspects was killed while the rest managed to flee.
BAHAWALPUR:
A man was killed allegedly in a shoot-out with the police on Wednesday. Police said they had received a report by villagers that five dacoits had robbed two farmers, Muhammad Maqbool and Noor Muhammaad.
Villagers said the robbers also beat the two farmers and tied them to a tree. Police said when a police team approached the scene, the dacoits shot at them.
In the ensuing exchange of fire, one of the suspects, identified as Irshad Hussain, was killed while the rest managed to flee.
The injured farmers were taken to Liaquatpur Tehsil Headquarter Hospital.
