Open fire: Three bandits killed in shoot-out

The arrested bandits confessed they had been in Naran for the last four days trying to loot tourists, says DPO.

MANSEHRA: The Mansehra police claimed to have gunned down three bandits and arrested three of their accomplices after a shoot-out in Jaraid, Naran on Wednesday. Speaking to journalists, DPO Abdul Ghafoor Afridi said he received information stating a gang of bandits had blocked Naran Road near Tahand Morr Jaraid and were waylaying picnickers travelling down from Kaghan. “When we reached the site the armed bandits opened indiscriminate fire,” said Ghafoor. When the police returned fire, the DPO said three of the bandits were killed while three were injured and arrested. According to the DPO, the arrested bandits confessed they had been in Naran for the last four days trying to loot tourists. Ghafoor said those killed were identified as Faraz and Hazarat Ullah from Orakzai Agency and Azhar from Tannan Qalandarabad village.
