ISLAMABAD:
The Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Supreme Appellate Court Bar Association on Monday called upon the govt to give all fundamental rights to the people of G-B, including provincial status to the mountain region.
In a statement issued here, Advocate Shahbaz Khan said the people of the region are still deprived of their fundamental rights and have no access to an independent judiciary.
“This is not only a violation of the universal human rights to which Pakistan is a signatory but also a violation of the directives given on May 28, 1999 by the Supreme Court of Pakistan”, said Shahbaz.
