Close call: Bomb targeting seminary defused

According to BDS officials three kilogrammes of explosives were used in the bomb.

A bomb planted by unidentified militants near the boundary wall of a seminary in Shah Mansoor village was defused on Tuesday. Riaz Khan, an official of the Zaida police, said around 10am students of Darul Uloom Taleemul Quran Shah Mansoor Seminary reported they had spotted a suspicious bag near the rear boundary wall of the building. Khan said he and other police officials rushed to the site and called in the bomb disposal squad (BDS). Police cordoned off the area while a BDS official inspected the bag and found a bomb inside. The official defused the device and said three kilogrammes of explosives were used in the bomb. A case was filed against unidentified militants. Khan explained most students started their annual recitation of the Quran before Ramzan, adding they attended the seminary from various villages.
