Academic research: ‘Policy making should be grounded’
Coordinated efforts by researchers and industrialists would ensure food security in the country, says Munir.

“National policy formation should be grounded in university research,” Agriculture Secretary Ijaz Munir said on Monday. Addressing a meeting at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), Munir said coordinated efforts by researchers and industrialists would ensure food security in the country. He said he would convene a meeting of all stakeholders to map out a comprehensive plan to lift the agriculture sector. Munir said that an exhibition centre being set up at the UAF campus would help farmers learn about new techniques.
