Mohsin was kidnapped 10 days ago allegedly by Yousaf over disputed money, says protesters.
BAHAWALPUR/MULTAN:
Three men were arrested on Monday after police discovered from a shop the body of a man reported missing for several days.
Qutabpur police said that the deceased, Waseem, had been a rickshaw driver and a resident of the Kumhar Mandi area. They said a few days ago, he had had an argument with a neighbour, Mansoor. Waseem’s family told police that he had gone missing on Sunday.
On Monday, police said, some neighbours reported a stench coming from Mansoor’s shop. They said they dound Waseem’s body behind a sofa in the shop. Mansoor, his brother and their mother were then arrested on suspicion of murder.
Elsewhere, the family of a man, whose body was found in a sack a few days after he had gone missing, had protested against the police for not arresting the suspect. They had blocked the road near the Double Chowk by burning tyres.
The protesters said Maqbool Mohsin was kidnapped 10 days ago allegedly by Yousaf over disputed money. They later dispersed after a police team visited the scene and assured them that the suspect would be arrested soon.
In Dera Ghazi Khan, the naked body of a woman was found from a pit near For Munro. Border Military Police said they found the body during a patrol. They said the deceased seemed to be in her 20s. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
Kidnapped woman’s putrefied body found
In Bahawalpur, the body of a 22-year-old woman was found from the Laal Sohanra National Park on Monday. Police said it was in too bad a condition to be identified.
They said her relatives identified her from the clothes she was wearing the day she was kidnapped. Police said it seemed that the woman had been raped. The body has been sent to Bahawal Victoria Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Her relatives told police that a few days ago she and her husband were on their way home when some unidentified men had stopped them near Chak 65-RD. The men had beaten her husband unconscious and taken her away. Police had been looking for her since then. On Monday, a shepherd, Allah Ditta, found her body in the jungle and informed Abbas Nagar police station.
