KARACHI: Sindh IGP Shahid Nadeem Baloch said that the department was making efforts to recruit women in the police department at all levels.

He was addressing a ‘darbar’ [open meeting] at the police zone West on Monday.

The IGP said that women could play an effective role in police affairs, especially for human rights, and issues related to women and children.

He added that it was important to induct women police officers in the field too.

In response to a demand, Baloch called for recommendations for a separate cadre of women police.

At the meeting, he urged the officers to perform their duties with commitment and dedication.

Baloch further added that the department was taking steps for recruitments against ‘sons quota’.
