KARACHI:

A former Sindh advocate general will now be fighting the case for suspect, Shoaib Naveed, who has been accused of being involved in the shooting of 16-year-old Hamza Ahmed after an argument.

On his first day of taking up the case on Monday, Habib Ahmed also filed a power of attorney on behalf of the suspect and requested the court to adjourn the hearing as he was unwell. Following this request, an anti-terrorism court judge, Ghulam Mustafa Memon, adjourned the hearing till July 13.

Hamza was allegedly killed by Shoaib’s security guard, Amal Rehman, after an altercation on April 27 at Khayaban-e-Seher in Defence Housing Authority. After the murder, Amal escaped while Shoaib was taken into custody but was recently released on bail. Amal is the main suspect in the murder case.
