Investigate Musharraf in transparent manner: Chaudhry Nisar
The minister said that the rules of the FIA would also be revamped to give it more power against corrupt officers.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has asked Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Saud Mirza to initiate proceedings against Pervez Musharraf as per Article 6 of the Constitution, but in a transparent manner, The Express News reported.
Mirza informed Khan about the proceedings on the Musharraf case, saying that it was currently in its initial stages.
He told Khan that the Musharraf case was a first of its kind, and that the agency's investigators were working on it and all affairs were being looked at in complete detail.
Revamping FIA
Khan says an effective system of rewards and punishments would be put in place to boost the morale of law enforcement personnel, Radio Pakistan reported.
Khan said on Saturday that the government intends to revamp the FIA by removing all controversial officials and bringing in those with integrity and a clean track record.
Chairing separate meetings to review the performance and functions of the FIA and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in Islamabad on Saturday, he said that the rules of the FIA would also be revamped to give it more power against corrupt officers.
Khan directed that a procedure should be adopted to ensure a merit-based selection and induction procedure to ensure the better functioning of the FIA, and that a committee would soon be constituted for this purpose.
He said that political interference would not be tolerated in matters of transfers and postings within the Ministry of Interior and its attached departments.
Briefing the minister about the performance of the FIA, Director General FIA Saud Mirza said that only 36 out of a total of 52 police stations under the FIA were functional due to a lack of personnel.
Khan said that anti-money laundering units would be established in all parts of the country to check money laundering and hundi.
NADRA
NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik briefed the minister about NADRA’s workings.
He informed the minister that NADRA had finished its biometric registration of 96% adult men and 86% adult women in the country.
Khan asked the chairman to take steps to prepare a system of electronic voting by the time of the next general elections.
Malik informed the minister that work on the introduction of an e-tag system at the five selected entry and exit points in Islamabad had also started.
Malik informed the minister that NADRA had started registration of domestic servants in Islamabad and 5000 people had been registered so far during a week-long door to door campaign.
The minister was briefed about the three-tier system recently launched by NADRA on two main entry and exit points in Swat. The minister appreciated the system and asked for a proposal for replicating it in Quetta.
