Sajjad crashes out of Snooker Championship
Top two seeds miss out on semi-finals after defeats in their last matches.
Defending champion Mohammad Sajjad crashed out of the Snooker Championship underway at the Karachi Club, losing 4-3 to Mohammad Asif Toba, who advanced to the semi-finals taking place today.
Sajjad lost the first three frames 75-62, 61-50, 68-39 but made a stunning recovery, winning the next three frames 87-0, 87-0, 76-0 with breaks of 70 and 60 to draw level in the match. However, Toba held off Sajjad's challenge to win the deciding frame 66-46 and book a meeting with Sohail Shehzad in the last-four.
Top-seed Asjad Iqbal, who had already crashed out of the running for the last-four, lost his final match of the tournament 4-2 to Shehzad. Iqbal, who rarely looked the player his ranking suggests, lost 77-28, 88-24, 50-75, 64-62, 69-78, 59-31.
Shahram Changezi cruised into the semis as he stunned Qasim Kamani 4-0 with a break of 105 in the second frame and will face Imran Shehzad in the other semi-final.
