Afghan FC crush NBP to go top

Two goals from captain Jadeed Khan allowed Afghan Football Club a 4-0 drubbing of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) in the Pakistan Premier League (PPL) at Government High School in Chaman.
The hosts dominated the match right from the start and their attacking display yielded results in the 34th minute when Abdul Nasir gave them the lead through a low drive that went past goalkeeper Nadeem Sattar.
Following the slim lead at the interval, Afghan FC scored three more goals in the second half to record an emphatic win over NBP.
Their captain stole the limelight in the second half through his brace scored in the 53rd and the 70th minute. Fazalur Rehman who scored in 67th minute was the other scorer for the winners.
The win took Afghan FC to the summit of the PPL with five victories from six matches. Wapda slipped to second spot with four wins from five games while Karachi Port Trust sit third.
Meanwhile, Habib Bank Limited staged a remarkable recovery from being 3-1 down to hold KPT to a 3-3 draw at the Benazir Sports Complex in Karachi. The other match of the league between Nushki Baloch FC and KESC at Nushki ended in a goalless draw.
