Quota Agreement: Govt, Hajj organisers reach deal

ISLAMABAD:
The government and the Hajj Organizers Association of Pakistan (HOAP) on Thursday agreed to a quota of 60,000 pilgrims for this year with an increment of 12,000 to their original quota of 72,000 next year. A committee headed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar held talks with the HOAP on the Hajj qouta. Dar said Saudi Arabia had cut the Hajj quota for 2013 but the operators would be compensated next year.
