West Indies tour: Teams announced, Afridi makes comeback

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced a 16-member ODI team and a 15-member T20 team for the upcoming West Indies tour.

All-rounder Shahid Afridi – who was dropped from the team prior ICC Champions Trophy – has been added to the national team.

The announcement was made during a press conference in Lahore.


The ODI team includes Nasir Jamshed, Ahmad Shehzad, Muhammad Hafeez, Misbahul Haq, Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal, Saeed Ajmal, Wahab Riaz, Shahid Afridi, Junaid Khan, Muhammad Irfan, Asad Ali, Umar Ameen, Muhammad Rizwan, Abdur Rehman and Haris Sohail

While the T20 squad comprises Nasir Jamshed, Ahmad Shahzad, Muhammad Hafeez, Arif Sohail, Umar Akmal, Hammad Azam, Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Sohail Tanveer, Wahab Riaz, Muhammad Irfan, Asad Ali, Umar Ameen, Zulfikhar Babar and Junaid Khan.

During the press conference, PCB chief selector Iqbal Qasim said the selection was made on technical basis and all the standards were maintained.

Emphasising the need to strengthen the middle order, Qasim said the board has selected many youngsters for this tour.
