Musharraf treason case: SC disposes all petitions, orders govt to start investigation
Justice Khawaja hopes there will be no further delays in the case.

The Supreme Court disposed all petitions seeking the initiation of a treason case against former dictator Pervez Musharraf, reported Express News on Wednesday.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja concluded the hearing and ordered the federal government to investigate the case.
Justice Khawaja said that all eyes were on the government and he hoped that there would be no delay in the investigation of the case.
Attorney General Munir A Malik informed the court that a special committee had been set up for the purpose of investigation and that work had already begun.
Musharraf, who returned from four years of self-imposed exile in March, has been under house arrest at his plush farmhouse on the edge of Islamabad since April 19.
On June 24, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced that Musharraf will be tried for treason under Article 6 of the Constitution of Pakistan. He is accused of subverting the constitution twice.
