Contenders revealed: JUI-F announces candidates for by-polls

For the NA seats, Abdul Jalil Jan will contest from NA-1 Peshawar.

PESHAWAR: The parliamentary board of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) announced its candidates for the August 22 by-elections for four National Assembly (NA) and three provincial assembly seats on Tuesday.

For the NA seats, Abdul Jalil Jan will contest from NA-1 Peshawar, Maulana Attaul Haq Darwesh from NA-13 Swabi, Asad Mehmood from NA-25 Tank and Maulana Attaur Rehman from NA-27 Lakki Marwat. For provincial assembly seats, Qari Niaz Ali will contest from PK-23 Mardan, Maulana Muhammad Qasim from PK-27 Mardan and Azam Khan Durrani from PK-70 Bannu.

The name of the JUI-F candidate from PK-42 Hangu, which was vacated after the death of MPA Farid Khan, will be decided after consultations with the party’s district leadership.
