LAHORE:
A judge has asked the Sherakot SHO to explain by July 7 why he did not record a petitioner’s complaint about his wife, who allegedly stole from him and ran away when he found out that she was already married.
The court had on June 26 instructed the SHO to record Khurram Shehzad’s statement. Shehzad later filed a compliance plea saying the SHO had not done so.
The petitioner alleged that his wife Salma Shehzadi, whom he wed on July 24, 2010, fled with three tolas of gold jewellery and Rs10,000 the day after he confronted her with evidence that she had already had a husband. He had seen a nikah nama showing that she had previously wed Raja Yasir, who had told him that they had not been divorced.
The Sherakot SHO refused to register a case, upon which he moved the court.
