Cross-border trade: Indian, Pakistani businessmen meet to resolve issues

The Forum has been tasked by their respective governments with identifying the problems faced in cross border trade

Businessmen from Pakistan and India made a commitment on Saturday to work among themselves and through their respective governments for normalising Pakistan India trade. 



This declaration was made at the concluding session of the 1st meeting of the Pakistan-India Joint Business Forum (PIJBF). The Forum, which comprises of 15 prominent businessmen from each country, has been tasked by their respective governments with identifying the problems faced in cross border trade and coming up with recommendations for resolving the same.

An Indian delegation led by Chairman Hero Corporate Services Sunil Kant Munjal met its Pakistani counterparts in Islamabad over the weekend. The forum agreed to prioritise five sectors: Agriculture and Agri products, Automobile and Engineering, Textiles and Textile Made-ups, Pharmaceuticals, and Education and Vocational Training.
