Fiscal matters: Malir budget approved

The Malir District Municipal Corporation approved on Sunday a surplus budget for the year 2013-14.
The total outlay of the budget was Rs1.6 billion with over 51 per cent of the amount set aside for development work. Giving the breakdown, Malir administrator Qazi Jan Muhammad said that Rs292 million would be spent on construction and renovation of roads and footpaths, Rs 50 million on parks, grounds and nurseries, Rs41 million on fixing street lights and Rs194 for ongoing development schemes.
