Did you know?: Drug addiction nearly killed Eminem
The famous music icon says that he is glad to have recovered from drug addiction.
Rapper and songwriter Eminem once thought he was going to die because of his addiction to prescription drugs. He shared that his dependency on drugs almost killed him. The Lose Yourself singer also admitted that he went to rehab for treatment and is happy that he has gotten rid of his addiction, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“When I took my first Vicodin, it was like this feeling of ‘Ahh!’ I did not feel any pain and everything was more than mellow,” said Eminem. “I don’t know at what point exactly it started to be a problem. I just remember liking it more and more. People tried to tell me that I had a problem.”
Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, also mentioned an incident where he was rushed to the hospital and was almost going to die. “Had I reached the hospital about two hours later, I would have died. My organs were shutting down – liver, kidneys, everything. They were going to put me on dialysis. They didn’t think I was going to make it,” he added.
