KARACHI: The Karachi Grammar School (KGS) moved steadily ahead with its protest against the construction of an office building on Plot F-8, on Khayaban-e-Saadi, just 100 metres from the school’s junior and kindergarten branches.

After two sessions with parents of students as well as former students, the school and other stakeholders plan to submit a petition to the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency on October 4, Monday.

Another meeting has been scheduled for the following weekend, on Oct 9, to strategise for a demonstration march, on the 12th at 4 pm in front of the college and junior sections.

Further, plans for media coverage as well as deciding the list of questions to be put forth at the public hearing scheduled for Oct 14 will be on the agenda. Parents plan to carry placards emphasising the need for security for school children and the threat the zone’s commercialisation will bring.
