ISLAMABAD: Around 35 to 40 foreign mountain climbers would fly back to their respective countries from Pakistan within the next couple of days, according to the Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP).

ACP secretary Abu Zafar said, “Around 35 to 40 tourists have been brought back from various areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, their luggage is stocked with the Pakistan Army and after the arrival of their remaining luggage, they will leave Pakistan.”

He said that during the current season APC had received around 60 applications from tourists but that these numbers would decrease further after the recent incident.

Zafar said that the country received millions of dollars through mountain tourism and one tourist provided employment to approximately 15 locals.

He urged the government to take steps to woo back tourists, who had been scared away due to terrorist activities.
