Investment: ‘China can help Pakistan’s energy sector’

China played great role in the development of Gawadar Port which will link us with Central Asia and China, says Khalid

ISLAMABAD: Former ambassador Khalid Mehmood has said that China can help Pakistan in the energy sector as China has made great progress in various fields of energy generation. Talking to the media the former ambassador said that Pakistan and China have exemplary and time tested relations in strategic, defence and political fields. China is working on several energy projects in Pakistan such as the Neelum-Jhelum power project, and Pak-China trade is increasing continuously as Pakistani markets were flooded with Chinese goods, he said. He said that there are numerous examples of widening economic relations between the two countries and hoped that Chinese cooperation will bring an economic explosion in Pakistan, adding he said that China played great role in the development of Gawadar Port which will link us with Central Asia and China. Khalid said that ties between the two countries are strong enough to withstand changes in the international system and within the two countries.
