Preparations Arrangements for Qalandar’s urs yet to complete
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad will inaugurate the urs on Friday, June 28.
SEHWAN:
Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s 761st urs arrangements are underway for around 1.5 million pilgrims making their way to Sehwan from different parts of the country.
The administration organising the event faces major issues, including arrangements for clean drinking water and providing uninterrupted power supply in the town. Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad will inaugurate the urs on Friday, June 28.
A meeting on the arrangements for the event was convened a week ago between the district administration and the municipal officers. The officers have to arrange for sabeels [water booths] all over Sehwan for the relief of the pilgrims in the scorching heat.
Earlier, the district administration had promised to end load-shedding 10 days before the urs. “We are facing load-shedding to this day, and without uninterrupted power supply it will be quite inconvenient for the pilgrims,” said taluka municipal officer Asghar Ali Bhund.
