LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court on Thursday disposed of a petition by the Jhoolay Lal Council seeking special rail services for devotees heading to Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s urs in Sehwan Sharif, after a Pakistan Railways representative reported that two trains had been arranged.

One train is to leave for Sehwan Sharif from Faisalabad on June 25 and the other from Lahore on June 26, the counsel for PR told the court. The urs will be celebrated from July 31 to August 2. The Jhoolay Lal Council president had, in his petition, submitted that PR was refusing to arrange a special train even though the council was ready to pay for tickets in advance. He had said that thousands of people from all over the country travelled to Sehwan Sharif every year to take part in the urs and had asked the court to direct the Railways to arrange special trains for them.
