"Our security forces are not supposed to be guards. They do not belong to a private security agency. They have duties to fulfill," said Nisar, during a press conference in Islamabad.
He said that the government is working to formulate a channel through which security to the citizens will be ensured.
"We want to make it a transparent process," he said.
Nisar said that two task forces are being created.
"One would address security concerns of the citizens while the other will be tasked with the responsibility of working on the missing persons issue," Nisar explained.
"The citizens of the country feel insecure," he said.
Further explaining how the process of ensuring security can be made more transparent, he said "If an incident of security lapse occurs, it would be investigated and the report would be presented to the public."
He said that a report on the Quetta attack will be presented before the Senate and the National Assembly.
"When an FIR is registered, 14 stations will be notified and not just a few," Nisar added.
The interior minister further said that all the records of the police stations in Islamabad will be computerised within three months.
Adding to a point about misdemeanour of the youth that hampers civil life, he said, "Reckless and under-age driving will not be given a free pass, even if the children of member of parliament are involved."
Chaudhry Nisar also expanded on measures introduced for ensuring sanitary conditions of the roads, regularisation of health care and checking tax evasion.
"Medicines should be sold with the name of pharmaceutical company and dealer stamped on it, so that they can be tracked down if the medicines prove to be sub-standard," he said.

Excellent decision taken by Ch. Nisar, but what about the intelligence agencies work on security issue and law enforcement problem proliferating in different cities, this is a time consuming action but if government remain strict then hope so they might resolve this threat.
@Aysha M. 92 style operation: Yes u r correct. but who will stop the politicians from saying that calling army for restoring peace and order in Karachi is tantamount to be an attempt of derailing democracy.
Not a PML-N supporter but Ch.Nisar has proven to be quite an upright, stand out politician. During his stint as PAC Chairperson he did some amazing things and took a lot of people to task. I think he could to great things as interior minister (though pretty much any one would look good taking over from the last clown, RM). Hopefully he'll remain honest, incorruptible and steer us the right way in terms of security and law enforcement. Tall order, but the right guy for the job currently.
There can be hundreds of policies made and hundreds of orders issued, but the main problem is enforcement and implementation of the law?
If Ch. Nisar could first change the attitude of the Police, this will be a great service to the nation.
The rest of the matters can be taken on one by one basis.
I expect from Ch. Nisar to reach the masterminds of suicude bombers.
When we talk about missing persons, we should also talk about the missing children, as missing children are the ones who become suicide bombers, not the missing persons.
What about issuance of Passports in time?

I appreciate the good and positive start of Ch. Nisar, but at the same time I want to see that his words are turned into actions, which should bring a positive change for the common man in Pakistan as well as for the betterment of the society.
Excellent first step by new government. Majority of civil armed forces had become personal guards for the ministers, parliamentarians and none were left to provide security and safety for the poor population left completely at the hands of the criminals or 2-man bike riders with illegal weapons continuously killing the innocent citizens.

@ZZ, I sympathize with your situation in Karachi. But I think for the bad law and order situation there, only one party is responsible that has been ruling there for the last 15-25 years. As long as parties have militant wings, there can't be peace in Karachi :/
We need a '92 style operation to clean up all the filth that's been collecting there, affecting the lives of common innocent Pakistanis there.
@zz my thoughts are same as @FACT in Karachi Govt of the people lead by their own representatives that is why most of the Karachi voted for MQM once again...So please better ask Ninezero and Bilawal house. IF FEds interfered in Karachi then grateful people of Karachi would be complaining again like the last operation by Gen Babar.

@ZZ: Dear ZZ, the law and order situation, especially street crimes is the responsibility of the provisioncial govts. So better ask your representatives from PPP or MQM for the issue.

The citizen of the country will feel secure when the elephant in the room i. e. Taliban and their sympathizers and helper in the form of sectarian organizations are got rid of. Until then all these steps will end up having no meaningful effect.
