According to a Geo News report, the chief justice made this observation while hearing a case against the increase in general sales tax and petroleum prices.
The case is being heard by a three-judge bench, headed by the chief justice.
The chief justice said that one percent increase in the sales tax caused 15% surge in the prices.
He further questioned why would people look up to the parliament if the rulers kept imposing taxes on them.

The parliament should also devise stricter criteria for selection of judges to the higher courts. Among the government servants the judges are probably the most poorly qualified. The bureaucrats on the other hand, when they reach grade 22 would have at least attended the staff college if not a foreign university.
Despite the unrelenting bashing in the social media, the CJP insists on playing the role of a politician from the opposition. The elected parliament needs to seriously look at the powers bestowed upon the judges in the constitution. They are payed servants of the state which is supposed to be run by the elected members of the parliament.

The defacto PM in action!
Don't you think, Mr. CJ, you are too much political. Why not leave CJ position and join politics?

Why do we look up to parliament when it impose taxes??? Because that's where government gets it's money...? Where does CJ think government revenue (and his salary) comes from? Trees?
And 1% GST caused 15% rise in prices? Well that math needs to be explained to me.
