Cell phones seized from Karachi jail prisoners destroyed

Prison administration seizes as many as five hundred cell phones and drugs from inmates.

As many as five hundred cell phones and drugs seized from the inmates at the Karachi jail over the last three years were destroyed on Tuesday by the prison’s administration.


The destroyed items include 500 cell phones, 400 batteries, 39 chargers and two kilogrammes of drugs.

While talking to The Express Tribune, IGP jails, Nusrat Mangan, said the items were seized from the inmates during various search operations carried out by the jail police during last three years.

“As a huge cache of mobile phones and drugs were seized, we had to dispose them of,” explained IGP Mangan.  “We destroyed them under the presence of a judge appointed by the Sindh High Court.”

How these items smuggled inside in spite of guards. It is easy find out living standard , life style, houses and tuition fees they are paying for their siblings of Jail authorities from Jailer to sweeper.. The culprits can be located in two days. If Mr.Mangan DIG is serious and honest. PLEASE DO COVEY THIS MESSAGE TO MR. MANGAN
