Taking action: Police destroy crop of cannabis

According to reports, a heavy contingent of police raided the site and destroyed the crop covering more than 15 acres.

SUKKUR: A crop of cannabis (bhang) was destroyed by the police in village Jatoi, Larkana, in the limits of Akil police station on Saturday.

According to reports, a heavy contingent of police, led by the Larkana ASP Hassan Sardar Niazi, raided the site and destroyed the crop covering more than 15 acres.

No arrests, however, were made. Confirming the action, Niazi said that the total crop was estimated to be around 100 maunds. The owners of the land had fled well in advance of raid, said Niazi, adding that an investigation was under way and they will be arrested soon.
