MUMBAI:
Actor Shahrukh Khan’s romantic roles may have made him quite popular amongst his female fans, but it seems Rohit Shetty, director of his film Chennai Express, is giving him tough competition. King Khan says that girls apparently find the Golmaal series director more attractive than him.

“This is for the first time I am working with a director where they find him [Shetty] more attractive than me. Next time if I am working with him, I will have to probably cover up his face,” Shahrukh told reporters at the first look launch of Chennai Express.

Last seen in triangular love saga Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Shahrukh says it’s easier to do action in Shetty’s film than love songs in any other movie.

Praising the team, he said, “They take care of action scenes so well that it is so safe, harmless and gentle.  I actually think I can be an action hero, but only in his films.”

Shahrukh is teaming up with Shetty for the first time in the upcoming Chennai Express alongside actor Deepika Padukone. Shahrukh feels that Shetty knows exactly what he wants and has a clear vision.

“I think the most important thing is his vision. He writes every film with a different idea and that’s the hallmark of Rohit. His work speaks volumes,” said SRK.

Initially, the release date of Chennai Express clashed with Akshay Kumar starrer underworld drama Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Dobara [OUATIMD].

However, the production team of OUATIMD, Balaji Telefilms agreed to move their date after the team of Chennai Express met up with them.

Shahrukh was thankful to Jitendra, chairman of Balaji Motion Pictures, for being so understanding.

“I am really grateful to Jeetuji, who understood the thing. I think everybody should follow this. I am very thankful to him and wish the team of OUATIMD all the best,” said SRK.

Chennai Express hits theatres on August 8.
