KPT crush HBL in one-sided encounter

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) defeated Habib Bank Limited (HBL) 3-0 in a one-sided encounter while nine-time national champions Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) beat Sui Southern Gas Corporation (SSGC) 3-1 to register their second win in the Pakistan Premier League (PPL).
After a dull first half, KPT played with aggression and opened the scoring in the 73rd minute through midfielder Jamaluddin. KPT’s right winger Mohammad Waseem doubled the lead in the 85th minute before Shahid Saleem sealed the win for the home side with a third in the 88th minute.
Meanwhile, PIA began their match brimming with confidence as they secured a 1-0 lead after midfielder Nazir Ahmed scored in just the fifth minute of the match. Ahmed added a second in the 22nd minute before SSGC hit back through winger Rustum Khan’s goal in the 49th minute. With the scoreline reading 2-1, PIA’s Waseemullah scored in the 88th minute to earn maximum points for his side.
