Countering terrorism: Police foil explosives smuggling attempt
According to police officials, the accused were allegedly trying to smuggle the material to settled districts.

A bid to smuggle explosives and other material used in making homemade bombs was foiled by the police in Mattani on the outskirts of the city. The three accused were also arrested. During routine checking, a vehicle coming from Darra Adam Khel was stopped and a cache of 125 kilogrammes of explosives along with 1,000 safety fuses and prima card was recovered. According to police officials, the accused, Nadir, a resident of Adezai, and Ayaz and Sameeullah, residents of Mariamzai, were allegedly trying to smuggle the material to settled districts. Another incident of terrorism could have taken place if they had been successful in doing so, they added. An FIR has been registered against the suspects.
