Post-accident care: DC seeks trauma centre on highway

The unofficial figures, however, put the casualties at 31.

HYDERABAD:
The Jamshoro district administration has requested the provincial government to set up a trauma centre on the Indus Highway between Jamshoro and Sehwan owing to the high incidence of accidents on the 136-km stretch.

Earlier this week, deputy commissioner Sajid Jamal Abro had also requested the government to hand over the highway traffic regulation to the Motorway police to prevent accidents during the urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in the last week of June. Over 16 people have died and 30 have been injured in accidents on the road in the first five months of the current year.

The unofficial figures, however, put the casualties at 31.
