The Punjab Advisors Ordinance 2002 empowers the chief minister to appoint five advisors.

The provincial cabinet will meet on Wednesday (today) at the Darbar Hall of Civil Secretariat with the chief minister in chair. They will decide on a roadmap for five years and discuss the upcoming financial budget, an official at the Chief Minister’s office said. The chief minister has retained Planning and Development, Communication and Works, Home, Services and General Administration, Information and Culture, Literacy and Non-formal education, Public Prosecution, Transport, Livestock and Dairy Development and Management and Professional Development portfolios. Another senior official in the chief minister’s secretariat said the advisors and special assistants would be assigned some of the departments.
